A bolt pattern (or lug pattern / PCD) is the number of lug holes and the diameter of the circle they sit on, in millimeters. A 5x114.3 wheel has 5 lugs on a 114.3mm circle. Wheels only fit vehicles with a matching pattern, so this is the first spec to check when buying wheels.
